The Day of the Birth of the Twins

It's fast approaching.

We celebrated many births this month, including roommate Cait, Justine's father, and our dear Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Tomorrow is a special occasion where not one, but two of the roommates were born, 22 years ago.

Christmas

As of today we are all (somewhat) in our "homes" as in, with our families for the holidays. Finals ended quite well, although there was definitely some delirium in the wee hours of the night due to the insanity of studying for cumulative world religion finals (sorry Cailee and Katie). On Friday night after all finals were over, we had some of our friends over to just hang out, so we made AMAZING grilled pizzas—thanks to Justine's awesome cooking skillzzz. It was so. good. soooo. good.

So now we are scattered over the West Coast as Caitlin and I are here in dreary, overcast Washington (but I do appreciate the cold weather for the Christmas season); Justine and Jenna holding the fort down in SB; Katie is soaking in the sun in Arizona, while Izzi and Cailee head home to Valencia and Thousand Oaks, respectively.

It's a little weird knowing we just finished half of our senior year already. Wow. That went by way too fast. But as I sit here thinking about the first semester and all its challenges and joys it brought us, I am truly overwhelmed by the faithfulness of Jesus. He knew all along that we were meant to be living together in this culminating year of our Westmont careers and knew how we were going to learn to love one another amidst living in the same home. It's been a
joy.

Merry Christmas from our home to your's, in all the saying's cheesiness and sincerity.
Truly.

Finals Procrastination Part 1

We are midway through finals week and man oh man is it hard to believe that this is the penultimate (look that word up and that's assuming you don't know what it means of course) time we will be taking finals (that is of course for most of my roommates, as for me I might be in school again for my credential starting July. Cool).

So for procrastincation sake, here are some cool things I saw on one of my favorite blogs, A Cup of Jo

Haiku traffic signs in New York City. Neato and haha.

Just remember, when stressing about finals or anything in general for that matter, "make like a spaceship and rock it..." Cailee Schoolhouse.

The Blog

Well. Here we are making our little mark in the blogging world.
Some of our friends (honors to Casey Underwood) call our house of seven women (yes, seven) "the blog house" because they say everything in it is "bloggish"—whatever that means. So, I guess you could say we're trying to fit into our new name (a few months late, but that's okay).

The we (listed from eldest to youngest for organization sake, as Marie did write this):

Caitlin—the one who woofs.
Marie—the one who drives a buddy.
Jenna—the one who eats spoonfuls of cheese.
Justine—the one who bakes.
Cailee—the one who rescues animals.
Katie—the one who babies the succulents.
Izzi—the one who got away.

All of us are finishing our senior year of college and about to embark on the next "big adventure." Jenna, the recent graduate, has fiercely shown us that life still continues on and you really are semi-prepared for the real world despite the financial blockades that seem to come quite consistently, so we're thankful for her joy and wisdom she exudes amidst it all.

For the past few months of living together, we've gone through quite a bit. From laughing hysterically at the quirks in our house, to quarreling about how each one of us lives (and eats—the thing we've passive aggressively fought about the most), we have learned a lot about ourselves. So there's my attempt at being semi-sentimental, but not too sentimental because we don't want to scare you off just quite yet.

Just remember, don't leave your empty yogurt cup out on the table every morning for everyone else to clean up...Caitlin.

Stay tuned for the tribulations and celebrations of your typical band of roommates. quirks and all.
